North Platte falls twice to Southeast in Saturday doubleheader

Beatrice, Neb. - The North Platte Community College softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to Southeast Community College on Saturday.

Southeast 11 North Platte 1

Southeast set the tone early, erupting for eight runs in the second inning and adding three more in the fourth.

North Platte managed its lone run in the fifth inning, capitalizing on a Bobcat error.

Areliana Bravo took the loss in the circle for the Knights, allowing eight runs on seven hits over two innings. She recorded one strikeout and issued one walk.

Southeast 15 North Platte 1

The Bobcats struck quickly again in the second game, scoring five runs in the opening inning.

North Platte answered in the second when Heaven Hutchison crossed the plate on a passed ball, but Southeast responded with a seven-run inning to extend its lead. The Bobcats added three more runs in the fourth to put the game out of reach.

Danica Unger started in the circle for the Knights, pitching three innings and surrendering 14 runs on 10 hits. She struck out one and walked eight.

North Platte (2-24) continues Region 9 play on Sunday against Southeast Community College, with first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m. in Beatrice, Neb.
