Knights finish second to open spring season

La Junta, Colo. - The North Platte Community College women's golf team opened its spring season on a high note, finishing second at the Lamar/Otero Tournament.

Iryana Frahm led the team, opening with a 99 before shaving nine strokes off her score in the second round to finish with a two-day total of 189 (+49).

Esperanza Mendoza-Rama also recorded a 90 on Friday securing eighth place overall with a total score of 192 (+52).

Zoey Oatts improved by five on day two to end with a two-day total of 199 placing in ninth.

Delaine Mize carded her best round on Friday to place tenth. Rounding out the Knights was Ellie Blakely who started her collegiate career with a two-day total of 278 (+138).

North Platte will return to the course for the two-day McCook Community College Tournament at the Heritage Hills Golf Course in McCook March 26-27.
