North Platte, Neb. – The North Platte Community College softball fell to Western Nebraska Community College in their last home doubleheader on Friday.
Western Nebraska 13 North Platte 9
Western Nebraska jumped out early with a run in the first and three more in the third. North Platte got on the board in the third when Trinity Carr scored, but the Cougars pulled away with a four-run fourth to make it 8-1.
Wren Herrick delivered a key single in the bottom half to drive in two runs, and the Knights added two more in the fifth. Western Nebraska answered with three in the sixth, while North Platte responded with four in the bottom of the inning, but the Cougars tacked on two more to seal the win.
Areliana Bravo started in the circle for North Platte, allowing nine hits and eight runs over three innings, with two walks.

Western Nebraska jumped out early with two runs in the second inning and added four more in the fourth.
Brooklyn Deibert hit a home run in the fourth to get the Knights on the board, with one additional run scoring later in the inning.
Western Nebraska added one more run in the seventh to close out the game.
Julia Leicht pitched a complete game for the Knights, allowing seven runs on 14 hits with one walk and three strikeouts.
North Platte (3-37) heads to Scottsbluff on Sunday for their last game of the season against Western Nebraska Community College. First pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
