Lamar, Colo. – The Knights opened Region 9 play Saturday afternoon by dropping a pair of games to Lamar Community College.

North Platte took the lead in the top of the first when Nayely Duran stole home and Sarah LeBere singled to right field to drive in another run. North Platte added two more runs in the second on a Victoria Arellano single and pushed their lead to 7-1 at the top of the fourth.
Lamar responded with five runs in the fourth inning to cut the deficit to one before taking the lead in the fifth on a three-run home run. Both teams added one more run before the Runnin' Lopes secured the 11-8 win.
Brooklyn Deibert started in the circle for the Knights, allowing seven hits and six runs over 3.2 innings while striking out one and walking three.

Lamar carried a 4-0 lead into the fourth inning of game two before the Runnin' Lopes erupted for six runs in the frame, highlighted by a three-run home run that capped the rally.
Julia Leicht started in the circle for the Knights, pitching 3.1 innings. She allowed nine runs on six hits (three earned) while striking out five and walking five.
Knights (1-3) will continue Region 9 play with another doubleheader against Lamar Community College on Sunday. First pitch is set for noon in Lamar, Colo.
