Men’s golf finishes fifth in Gering
Gering, Neb. – The North Platte Community College men's golf team wrapped up play at the Monument Shadows Golf Course in Gering with a fifth-place finish, posting a two-day total of 83-over par.
Simon Capocci led the Knights with an opening round 79 and followed with a 76, finishing at 155 (+11) to tie for 8th.
Layne Smotzer posted consistent rounds of 79 to finish tied for 16th in the field, while Chandler Frahm finished with a two-day total of 171 (+27).
Darin Neben rounded out the lineup, finishing 30th overall with a tournament score of 175 (+31).
Knights head to the North Central District Championship for their last meet of the season. The three-day meet will be held at The Olde Course in Loveland, Colo. April 22-24.
